The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at Thiagarajar College of Engineering, established in 1957, has a distinguished legacy in education, research, and industry collaboration. Recognized with the AICTE-CII Best Industry-Linked Institute Award in 2014, the department is also supported by the DST under the FIST scheme, underscoring its research and infrastructure capabilities. The department's UG and PG programmes are accredited and re-accredited, with Outcome-Based Education (OBE) implemented since the academic year 2014–15 to ensure enhanced learning outcomes.
The B.E. Electrical and Electronics Engineering program at Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE) equips students with a strong foundation in electrical systems, electronics, and modern engineering practices. The course focuses on key areas such as power systems, electrical machines, control systems, electronics, embedded systems, renewable energy, IoT , Power electronics and smart grid technologies. With an emphasis on practical and project-based learning, the curriculum integrates design thinking and system thinking methodologies. Students engage in engineering design projects, capstone projects, and seminars to develop problem-solving skills and industry readiness.
